1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember your preferences and improve your experience.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
Required for the Platform to function. These handle authentication, security, and session management. They cannot be disabled.
Functional Cookies
Remember your preferences such as language, theme, and location settings. These improve your experience but are not strictly necessary.
Analytics Cookies
Help us understand how users interact with the Platform, allowing us to improve features and performance. Data is anonymized and aggregated.
Advertising Cookies
Set by Meta (Facebook and Instagram), only on the website and only if you accept them. They are off by default. They tell us whether our ads bring visitors to Ahidaho and let us show our ads to people who have visited the site. The _fbp cookie identifies your browser, and the _fbc cookie, set when you arrive from an ad, remembers that ad. Both are kept for 90 days. No information is sent to Meta from sign-in, account, order, payment, selling or delivery pages. See section 8 of our Privacy Policy.
Email measurement (tracking image and tracked links)
This is not a cookie but a similar technology. Some newsletters contain a tiny image and links that pass through Ahidaho, which tell us whether the email was opened and whether its links were clicked. Nothing is stored on your device. It is active only when we turn it on for a given newsletter. Blocking images in your email app prevents open measurement, clicks are counted only when you click a link, and unsubscribing stops both. See section 6 of our Privacy Policy.
3. Managing Cookies
You can manage cookie preferences through our cookie consent banner, which the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page reopens at any time so you can change or withdraw your choice, or through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent the Platform from functioning properly.
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies may be set by third-party services we use. These are governed by the respective third party's privacy policy.
Advertising cookies are set by Meta and governed by its privacy policy (facebook.com/privacy/policy). Withdrawing your consent stops information being sent to Meta and removes these cookies from our domain.
5. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for regulatory compliance. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
